Exterra Designs very recently finished a backyard design with a stone patio, fireplace and pergola for our home. We hired Pete after meeting with another landscape designer that was not helpful and not answering our questions. Pete walked us through the process step-by-step, sat down with us several times to ensure we all agreed with what the final product would look like, and brought our vision to life. We could not be more pleased with Pete's professionalism and how our backyard now looks. It is gorgeous and we cannot wait to have friends over to enjoy our new patio and fireplace. Pete was also extremely helpful and organized in getting our permits through the city, gave us an itemized list of the cost of each item and worked with us to get the price to a place that was within our budget. He was on-site daily to update us and check-in with his crew. The crew was also extremely hard working and worked through extreme rain and snow. We would not hesitate to recommend Exterra Designs, and we plan on using them again in the spring to landscape our front yard.

We hired Exterra to replace a wooden deck with a stone patio. I was extremely impressed and pleased with Pete's professionalism and creativity. He produced a wonderfully detailed design that provided us with options to add or subtract elements. His breakout of the cost of the various elements of the design was very helpful in evaluating the recommendations. His crew was very experienced and hard-working: they did not miss a day's work. They were careful to protect our and our neighbor's landscaping while moving material and equipment. Exterra started and completed the project on the schedule given to us at the beginning. Top notch design and build landscape architect services. Exterra was recommended by another landscape architect who specialized in civic design projects, private home projects. The Exterra Designs owner/architect Peter gave attention to this project that permits the homeowner to hand over the reigns to the designer. His high level of skill becomes immediately apparent as he immerses himself into details of the elevations, the symmetry, hardscape design, soft scape, and finally plant selection. The garden retains its beauty at night with accent lighting and the sounds of the unique rain chain water feature both in season and out of season. The most important observation I noticed about Exterra Designs, is that they "listen" to the customer. Peter really listened to our wants, needs and desires for a new garden. Our Asian garden rose from barely a mushroom patch to a glorious Asian tea garden with a unique rain chain water vessel feature and custom built bamboo trellis. Peter created a Zen like oasis in an urban environment.

I hired Exterra Designs to design and install my front yard landscaping. Exterra worked with me to deliver a great design that met my needs and stayed within my budget. The work was completed on time and with great satisfaction. We will definitely use Exterra for future projects. Thanks Pete! Pete designed a 'thoughtful' entry to our home that looks like it is suppose to be there. Bluestone flanked by chunks of stone from Montana has created a welcome to our front door. Pete's team were professional and thorough and we are extremely pleased with the end result! Exterra Designs did a beautiful job on my outdoor patio. I interviewed a number of hardscape companies, but only Pete had the vision for design that no one else offered. Most importantly, he was respectful of my budget. I've used Exterra a few times. First, they fixed stonework and landscaping that was done incorrectly be another landscaper. When we were ready to add some pop to our front yard, Pete built a beautiful berm with a stone wall. They also took out my original cement front walk and put in a stone walkway. I would recommend them to anyone. Pete has some great ideas! We had Exterra Designs to our patio as well as our basement. They are honest, reliable, and do great work! I would recommend them to anyone interested in patio work, new driveways, or interior contracting.

We had hoped for a patio and space to entertain....we now have an amazing extension of our home complete with a fireplace, waterfall, built in barbecue, dining and lounging area. Exterra Designs transformed and personalized our outdoor space including details that we never dreamed possible. Our next project with Exterra will be the transformation of our entry. We are looking forward to working with Exterra again and being thrilled with the ease of the process as well as the beautiful outcome.

We have had Exterra do two projects for our home. First was landscaping the front and side of the house. This involved stone work, plantings and a pergola. We were thrilled with beautiful design and the craftsmanship of installation. The plantings have thrived and after 10 years all the work remains intact. Two years ago, we came back to Pete to have a patio put on the back of the house. This was all brick work and Pete's design was great and worked perfect with what was existing. We had some settling on the patio and Exterra was out immediately to fix it and it is great. We love the work Pete has done with design and the guys doing the install were wonderful. We whole heartedly recommend Exterra designs.
